Hannah’s Birthday

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

It’s Hannah’s birthday today and we’re all jolly keen for her to have a good day. Amazon will be celebrating both Hannah’s birthday and also that of her friend Ege. Here you can see her all decked out in her party frock.

Why buying a Leica is sound economics.

Kumlubuk: Seeing what’s in front of your nose!

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

There is much to see here for those who have eyes for the simple and miraculous. For example the light on these rocks caught my attention this morning as I walked to Kumlubuk.

Kumlubuk: After The Rant

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

I snapped this with the E-3 fitted with the 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux, which is undoubtedly my heaviest but best lens.

Amos: Jeff Oliver And Fuzzy Photography

I like to use old 35mm lenses on my cameras and focus manually. It makes me think about my image and slows the shooting process down.

Photography: A Fuzziless Photo To Redress Yesterday’s Image of Jeff Oliver

I was, somewhat, amazed at just how awful it’s possible to make a photograph when one is seeking perfection in an image.

Photography: Another Olympus E-3 Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon Image

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

The Flektogon 35mm will focus down to just a few cms. You can actually get closer to your subject with it than with a Zuiko 50mm Macro and the results are very fine indeed.

OM Zuiko 50mm, Olympus E-3, ISO 3200. The image looks best if you accept the noise for it has a, somewhat, grain like quality.

Cappadocia: What mysteries will be revealled to you in Ortahisar?

Cappadocia ~ Ortahisar

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

It’s still possible to climb Ortahisar but no-one lives in it now. After a shower this hunk of volcanic material looks magnificent, but I still think the view can’t be beaten on the night of a full moon.

Cappadocia~ Ramo’s Atölye

Friday, October 30th, 2009

If you spend any time in Cappadocia it’s quite likely that you will have seen some of Ramo’s art but not known it. He’s incredibly talented both as a painter and as a stonemason and sculptor whose work isn’t just to be found in galleries, but also as drinking fountains, and shop signs.

Cappadocia ~ Dancing In A Cave House

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

These are images from a true authentic Turkish night ~ no television, no fancy dress, nothing contrived, just friends coming together because they can.
