Amos: Enclosing The Village Green Rumours
Those of you who have property in Amos probably know that the green area that separates the upper and lower stone houses is privately owned, and no longer part of the Amos Estate.
Years ago, when it was owned by the co-operative, it was a space designated for use as a conference centre. The history of why the centre wasn’t built is clouded in mystery and, some might say, intrigue. Anyway in due course the property passed into private ownership, which has always been benign and indeed has arrested the prospect of further development in the Amos site.
Recently permission was given for an increase in the numbers of buildings permissible in nearby Kumlubük. One suspects that Amos may well fall within that allocation. Now it seems that the owner of the ‘village green’ intends to enclose it so naturally there is speculation as to what he has in mind?
