Amos: Jeff Oliver And Fuzzy Photography
Some years back when I was taking lots of photographs for a magazine I found that sometimes an essential shot was ruined simply because I hadn’t focussed the camera adequately.
Today, with the advent of digital cameras equipped with autofocus that’s rarely likely to happen to you, but it still happens to me. The reason is that I like to use old 35mm lenses on my cameras and focus manually. It makes me think about my image and slows the shooting process down.
Unfortunately it can go very wrong, like in this image of Damla’s meditation teacher Jeff who was visiting Amos recently. The focus is really off here, and could it be that there’s camera shake too?
It’s not often that the E-400 Zuiko OM 24mm produces such a technically flawed image, but I was most certainly off form yesterday.
