Juice Fasting, Baked Potatoes and Crisps

Last year there was a presentation at your school about ‘How to Identify Infantile Diabetes’. It was pretty scary. The one aimed at parents was on the other hand practically incomprehensible. Lots of elderly fat men whose names appeared to start with ‘Professor Doctor’ were narrating incomprehensible medical facts. They seemed to imagine they were talking to fifth year medical students rather that the wives of the Zabita and bakal owner. Anyway that didn’t really matter because the whole film seemed to consist of adults shouting earnestly at the audience, so it must have done some good – even if as people left they said they hadn’t understood anything.

In Turkey even children as young as five and six are expected to undertake two, or more hours of homework a night. Can this be healthy?
