Gas? It makes me tired just typing about it!

The Aygaz Hologram TV Advertisement

Yesterday I reported on the remarkable ‘TURQUALITY’ label aimed at reassuring you that your Turkish made product is legitimate, and made from the finest materials using the latest technology.

Today I saw the most spectacular TV commercial for a ‘hologram’ that is part of a seal on bottled gas. This guarantees that the gas is genuine Aygaz, rather than some other brand.

How might you introduce this concept to the masses via a TV advertisement, I ask?

Perhaps a brief announcement from a representative of the gas company?

Maybe a brief announcement spoken by a respected celebrity, or popular news reader?

A little sketch lasting just half a minute in which one householder indicates that his neighbour’s gas lacks the holographic seal?

No Dear reader, this is Turkey:

A man in what appears to be an Aygaz employee’s boiler suit starts chanting about holograms. Then whole teams of voluptuous ladies dressed in the blue and yellow Aygaz colours begin to surround our whirling singer as the camera pans backwards.

The sound of the music heightens. The man is still prattling on about holograms. The screen must now contain well over 200 dancing figures, who with the exception of the man might drive any red-blooded individual to forget his, (or her?), marriage vows!

The screen has become a seething mass of swinging arms and legs and the man is still chanting on about holograms.

Eventually there must be 500 people all dancing in this brightly lit pristine white studio, that’s 2000 arms and legs, when grouped together. And the man is still chanting, and the camera is still spinning, and the dancers are still dancing and I’m wondering what the hell it’s all for . . . and then?

The man announces that Aygaz have introduced a hologram into the seal on their gas canisters.

Whew!

Post Script The Aygaz legal department prohibit direct links to their website, except to the home page. However, and without wishing to provide a direct link the url for this remarkable advertisement is: http://www.aygaz.com.tr/medya_iliskileri/images/reklamlar/mpeg/hologram.mpg

It takes a while to load, but it is well worth the waiting.
