Kumlubuk: Seeing what’s in front of your nose!
A month or so back I might have written a pretty anngry piece under this title. The fact is that when you walk from Amos to Kumlubuk very few yards of the hedgerow fail to contain some discarded water bottle, cola can, fag packet, sweet wrapper, or other human detritus.
In just four square yards nerar the entrance to the old citadel there were no less than twenty such man made pieces of litter. The fact is Turkey is quite a dirty place, not because of animals or lack of hygene but simply because people regard the land as a litter bin. Sad, but true.
However, not to dwell on the unsightly side of life there is much to see here for those who have eyes for the simple and miraculous. For example the light on these rocks caught my attention this morning as I walked to Kumlubuk.

A study in simplicity, light and colour.
