Kumlubuk: Wonderful Winter Light
Irem and I spent an hour, or so, walking around Kumlubük this morning. The light has an incredible quality to it and I shot a few frames with the Flektogon 2.4 on the Olympus E-3.
Some people knock this lens because when it was released it was aimed at owners of the Practica series of 35mm cameras. These were made in East Germany, as were the Flektogon’s under the Carl Zeiss Jena brand. What people forget, however, is that it was always possible to obtain good images with these cameras and lenses. The cameras were simply a little more ‘clunky’ than those coming out of Japan at that time.
The point about the Flektogon 2.4, f35 today, however, is that it works well with digital sensors, which cannot be said for all 35mm lenses. Anyway judge for yourself from these two images I made this morning.

Yachts moor here in the summer . . .

. . . but all were tucked up safely asleep on dry land today.
