More on childrens’ parks

A 1950s image for today’s postmodern world
As it’s half-term in the U.K. Jocelyn, Becky and Josie are at Amos this week. They arrived here this morning at around 4.00 am. They brought fine beers from Thwaites, and Fullers. Fine Port from Warres and Bombay Gin to fuel Damla’s Martinis. Most importantly they came themselves.
This afternoon we all ventured out to the park in Turunç. As I sat under a tree I was reminded of the sad story of the park Azize Ethem knew as a child. I was also reading ‘The Mind’s Eye‘ by Henri Cartier-Bresson. Suddenly I felt transported back in time to days when photographs were prinked on silver salted paper in monochrome. I took the Fuji FinePix E900 and waited as this composition presented itself.
Back in the pixel room I dialled in an orange filter, lightened the exposure by half a stop and applied a silver tone. All the time I thought of Azize. I hope that if she reads this she will like this ’1950s photograph taken today in the children’s park in Turunç.
