Photography: Bibble Pro, Lightzone and Lightroom Compared.

Created and Split-Toned in Bibble Pro®
Those of you who read yesterday’s post know that following a recommendation by Brian Mosley I mistakenly installed a trial version of Adobe Lightroom® on my computer, when Brian had recommended Lightzone® from Lightcraft’s Products.
Normally I convert my Olympus E-400 files in Bibble Pro®, and FujiFinepix E-900 RAW images in CCD, (S7) Raw.
Lightzone®, Lightroom® and Bibble Pro® all claim to provide photographers with a one-stop solution to image processing from camera RAW to final print. I don’t think any of them achieve this. All the images in this post have required someadditional ‘doctoring’ in Adobe Photoshop to get them to an acceptable state.
Of the three Lightroom® is I think the most intuitive program and it’s final image seems clearer and crisper than images from Bibble Pro®, although I’m sure that with some ‘tinkering’ I could improve the Bibble Pro image.
Lightzone® has many fine features but like Bibble Pro® tends to be a little more ‘clunky’. It’s early days yet in this trial, but I think Lightroom® will take some beating. Attempting to create a split toned image of my choosing in Lightzone was so tedious that in the end I gave the task up!
Maybe I’ll discover a simple way to manage this within the 30 days free trial?
