Photography: FinePix E-900, Depth of Field

The FijiFilm FinePix E-900 hasn’t featured lately in these posts, but it remains one of my favorite cameras. Even after nearly three years of use it stands up well to the competition from other compacts on the market.
The problem with it, and all compact cameras, is that it’s difficult to throw parts of the image out of focus and thus separate the main subject in an image from a distracting background.
My solution to the problem in this case was simply to paint the background out, in Adobe Photoshop, using a neutral colour.
