Photography: Olympus E-3, 3200 ISO

Olympus E-3, 3200 ISO, Carl Zeiss Flektogon 35mm at F4.0

I’m trying to keep the techy, camera hype, posts down but this image doesn’t really fit under any other category. I shot it at night on the bus from Istanbul back to Marmaris recently. If you look carefully you can discern some colour in the highlights, which is remarkable.

Why?

Simply because the light was so low that I could discern no colours at all with my eyesight. In short the sensor on the E-3 is more light-sensitive than my eyes.

I know there are those who favour Nikons because of their high ISO capability on full frame sensors. But for occasional use the Olympus sensor, (manufactured by Panasonic), seems adequate for most needs, and certainly costs a lot less!
