Photography: Olympus EP-2, Art Filters
Liquid Lunch, ‘Start The Bus‘ pub, Bristol
I’m slowly working my way through the Art Filters on the Olympus E-P2. This image was processed with the ‘Grainy Black And White Film’ filter.
I blame Dave Beckerman for me buying this camera.
Who takes responsibility for anything themselves these days?
The famous New York Photographer recently upgraded to a full frame camera.
A year, or so, back though he was playing with a Canon G11 and writing that he wished someone would make a camera with an APS sized sensor in a small Non SLR body.
Sigma were promising the DP-1, but at the time no such camera existed.
Last year both Panasonic and Olympus released cameras in the Micro Four Thirds format. With an adapter all my current Olympus lenses will work on the smaller Micro Four Thirds body, and my work-flow can remain unchanged.
The EP-2 isn’t as robust as the Four Thirds E-3, but it’s lighter, for travelling, and less obtrusive on the street.
The grainy ‘Art’ filter is very nice. The results remind me, somewhat, of the iconic 1960s images of the ‘Cockney Photographers’ Bailey, Donovan, and Duffy.
Duffy is this month’s featured photographer in the embedded video section.
