The Discovery Of The World’s Oldest Corkscrew

Alf Erickson's Old Corkscres

Maybe?

It’s official, first Noah’s Ark was discovered on Mt. Ararat , then Mary the mother of Jesus House was found in Ephesus and now according to leading corkscrew expert and collector Alf Erickson the corkscrew used to open the bottled water at the marriage in Cana in Galilee turned up a few years back in Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar.

The corkscrew, now part of Mr. Erickson’s collection, is he believes, the oldest corkscrew he possess and in our view, since his collection is so voluminous we think it’s probably the oldest corkscrew in the world.

I would however be pleased to receive photographs and or information on any other historical corkscrews that might come to light.
