This Is A Public Service Warning For Foreign Residents Contemplating A Holiday In Amos During The Next Ten Days.

Important Notice

Following a long standing dispute that delayed the erection of new electricity poles on the Turunç – Amos – Kumlubük road work has recommenced on the new power grid.

As a result sources claim there will be no power in Amos between the hours of eight a.m. and approx. seven p.m. for the next ten days, or so.

Your beer will boil, your cheese will melt, and your sausages will enter into black putrefaction in your refrigerator if left for more than a day.

Air will remain unconditioned, and your micro will be un-waved.

Best avoided, methinks :-(

Stephen

PS Those of you who are already committed to being here, please remember to bring my Jameson Whisky and Gordon’s Gin.

PPS Not you Phillip, you’re to bring Glenfiddich , as previously agreed.

Damla: Hopefully this won’t affect you, but this is Turkey so it might. Anyway would you kindly bring Bombay Gin when you return and, ice permitting, we will have Martinis at your place.

    Heaven forbid, warm beer?

  2. Stephen Bray Says:

Baz and Alice got here first with the Bushmill’s. It was half past eight when the power was cut this morning and it didn’t return for twelve hours.

The latest word is that we have fifteen more days like this!

If you happen to come a cross a string bag, buy me one, I chill my beer in the sea, damn I might just take up fishing and learn to read again?
