Turkey Travel: Marmaris To Rhodes, (Part 2)

One of the nicest things about exploring the Old City of Rhodes was discovering the mixture of styles of architecture. The island was inhabited prior to 5000 B.C. and has Hellenic, Roman, Byzantium, Crusading Christian, Ottoman, Italian, and even a little British influence.

The original streets are incredibly narrow. Any squares to be found today are apparently the result of bombing during World War II:

Clearly an Ottoman Addition!

I love the original cobbling of these streets,
maybe I’ll attempt to replicate it here at Amos,

Perhaps the different styles are most noticeable in the doorways?
