Turkey Travel: Turunc Cleanup

Turunc Children Say Enough Is Enough!

Turunç Children Think It’s Ime To Clean Up The Town!

It’s long been one of my bugbears that Turkey is just incredibly dirty. Last year, near the Amos Citadel, in a space of 90 sq meters I was able to count no less than fifteen discarded water-bottles, nearly as many discarded drink cans, and loads of other stuff.

But the teachers and children at Turunç School have decided enough is enough. Today they hit the streets with a clean-up campaign. Naturally our Mayor Ali Fidan got in on the act. In just a couple of hours our town was looking a whole lot l better.
